Pink Spot Ladybird Beetle
June 8, 2013 | Cool Bugs!
Earlier this year we this year we published a blog post describing all the different sorts of ladybugs or birds there are in the United States. Unfortunately we were resigned to put up drawings, especially of the natives. I am happy to announce we spotted our first pink spot ladybird beetle in our garden last week.
After snapping a couple pictures and putting the camera away we found some more good news; ladybug larvae. The larvae were found within 2 feet of where this little guy was so we are hoping that the native population is alive and well, at least in Willow Hill, PA.
