• Scanmask Spray, 10 million nematodes. Scanmask treats the widest variety of pest insects. The nematodes hunt down and kill pest insects beneath the soil.
• Nema-Jet Sprayer. A pre-calibrated hose-end sprayer that applies the nematodes with the right amount of water.

For most pests, and for a general or preventative treatment, you can apply Scanmask anytime the soil is not frozen, and it stays active in soil as cool as about 55°F (that's the soil temperature, which can differ from the air temperature). The treatment calendar lists the best timing for each pest.

Apply in the late afternoon or evening. Sunlight and heat harm nematodes, so avoid the middle of the day.

1. Apply in the evening, out of direct sunlight.
2. Mix the contents of the Scanmask bag thoroughly with ⅔ cup of clean, cold water. Let it sit for 20 minutes, then mix again right before you apply.
3. Connect the Nema-Jet to your hose with the control knob set to OFF, turn on the water, and pour the mixture into the bottle.
4. Turn the control knob to WATER and water the area to be treated.
5. Turn the control knob to ON and spray the affected areas, swirling the bottle now and then to keep the nematodes mixed. The 10 million Scanmask treats about 400 sq ft; for a bigger area, add a larger Scanmask Spray.
6. Turn the control knob back to WATER and water the area again to wash the nematodes off the leaves and into the soil.

Put the Scanmask in the refrigerator right away, and use it before the date on the package. Never put it in the freezer. The cold packs in the box don't need to still be cold when it arrives. See Shipping and arrival.

The nematodes in Scanmask occur naturally in soil and haven't been modified in any way. They are harmless to people, pets, and plants, and the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has exempted them from the registration required for chemical pesticides. The carrier they come in isn't meant to be eaten and may upset the stomach, so keep the package away from children.

Yes. The Nema-Jet works with any of our sprays, so you can buy Scanmask Spray, Ecomask Spray, or Heteromask Spray on their own and use the same sprayer.

Yes. Beneficial nematodes don't harm people, pets, plants, or beneficial creatures like bees, earthworms, and ladybugs. The EPA exempts them from pesticide registration.
